Job description

We Are:

Accenture is a global professional services company with leading capabilities in digital, cloud and security. Combining unmatched experience and specialized skills across more than 40 industries, we offer Strategy and Consulting, Interactive, Technology and Operations services-all powered by the world's largest network of Advanced Technology and Intelligent Operations centers. Over 500,000 people deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity every day, serving clients in more than 120 countries. We embrace the power of change to create value and shared success for our clients, people, shareholders, partners and communities. Visit us at http://www.accenture.com/.

Our Utilities CFO & Enterprise Value Practice sits at the intersection of two of the most dynamic transformations in industry - the reinvention of the Office of the CFO and the energy transition reshaping electric, gas, and water utilities. We partner with utilities CFOs and finance leaders to modernize the close, accounting, fixed assets, controllership, regulatory reporting, planning, and rate-case-ready data - unlocking insight, productivity, and measurable enterprise value as our clients navigate clean energy, grid modernization, and capital-intensive investment cycles.

You Are:

A trusted advisor to finance leaders who helps modernize accounting, fixed assets, and finance operations. You combine hands-on finance and ERP experience with strong consulting, communication, and delivery skills, and you bring a working understanding of the priorities that shape capital-intensive, regulated industries such as utilities. You are comfortable partnering across business, technology, client, product, testing, training, and offshore teams to align priorities, solve complex finance problems, and guide users through new ways of working. You bring practical knowledge of finance process design, fixed asset and capital accounting, and finance data, and you know how to translate CFO priorities into scalable solutions that improve controllership, decision support, and enterprise value.

The Work:

  • Support finance transformation programs for utilities CFO and controller organizations, including finance process redesign, solution design, data conversion, testing, training, deployment, and post-go-live adoption.

  • Lead or contribute to workstreams across core finance areas - General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets / capital accounting, Project Accounting, Intercompany, and regulatory/FERC reporting - aligning design to the client's chart of accounts, accounting policies, and controllership requirements.

  • Design and deliver Fixed Asset and capital accounting capabilities tailored to utilities - including CWIP, unitization, asset retirement obligations (AROs), depreciation studies, regulatory asset treatment, and integration with Projects and GL.

  • Translate utilities CFO priorities into measurable enterprise value cases - building business cases, value architectures, and KPI baselines that link finance capabilities to outcomes such as faster close, improved forecast accuracy, rate-case readiness, and reduced cost-to-serve.

  • Analyze finance process data - chart of accounts, sub-ledger mappings, master data, journals, asset registers, and reconciliations - to inform design, cleanse legacy data, and validate cutover readiness.

  • Collaborate across client stakeholders, Accenture delivery teams, product teams, integration teams, testing teams, training teams, and offshore resources to deliver coordinated finance transformation outcomes.

  • Support scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, user story development, acceptance criteria, demos, and defect triage for finance workstreams.

  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and enablement for utilities finance users, super users, and project team members to support long-term adoption.

  • Support execution of cutover activities, deployment readiness, change enablement, and stakeholder communications for finance releases.

  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery methods, solution quality, and cross-team collaboration while helping utilities CFOs realize finance transformation value.

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

What You Need:

  • Minimum of 3 years Finance transformation consulting experience - including process design, controllership, close optimization, or CFO advisory work.

  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience implementing or supporting ERP Finance solutions (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP) across GL, AP, AR, or Fixed Assets.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Fixed Asset / capital accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and integration with Projects.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with finance process data - chart of accounts design, sub-ledger to ledger reconciliation, data conversion, or finance master data management.

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience serving utilities clients (electric, gas, or water) or in a utilities finance, controllership, or regulatory function.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (6 years) work experience. If an Associate's Degree, 3 years of work experience is required.

Bonus Points If:

  • You have a CPA, CMA, ACCA, MBA, or equivalent accounting/finance credential.

  • You have familiarity with utilities-specific accounting and reporting - FERC/USoA chart of accounts, regulatory assets and liabilities, rate cases, AROs, CWIP, and unitization.

  • You have ERP Finance certification (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting, Oracle Cloud ERP Financials).

  • You have experience with EPM tools (SAP Group Reporting/SAC, Oracle EPM) and how they connect to finance.

  • You have familiarity with embedding GenAI / agentic AI into close, controls, planning, and reporting processes.

  • You have experience working in Scrum or Agile delivery environments, including user stories, sprint ceremonies, backlog management, demos, or defect resolution.

  • You have experience collaborating across cross-functional business, technology, integration, testing, training, client, and offshore teams.
