About The Movement

The Movement (movement.college) connects college students with local merchants through a student discount app. Merchants join to attract student customers, students discover and use deals at local businesses, and you earn every time a merchant activates. Bold Shops LLC is the Frederick, Maryland territory owner for The Movement, and we are growing our local merchant base fast.

The opportunity

This is not an entry-level role. We need someone who knows how to walk into a business, build rapport quickly, and close a deal. You will work a warm pipeline of merchants who have already been introduced to The Movement and are ready for a confident closer to get them across the finish line. You set your own schedule and there is no ceiling on what you can earn.

Pay type: Commission

100% commission, no guaranteed base wage. Estimated earnings $200–$1,000+ per month (part-time) based on performance, with uncapped upside on exclusivity sales (50% of territory revenue per deal closed, no ceiling) and $15 per free merchant signup activated. Typical time commitment is 5–6 hours per week. This is a 1099 independent contractor position; no employer-sponsored benefits (health insurance, retirement, or paid time off) are provided.

What you will do

• Follow up with a warm pipeline of local Frederick merchants who have already expressed interest

• Present the free merchant program and the exclusivity program to business owners and decision-makers

• Close merchants on the right program for their business — free enrollment or a paid exclusivity agreement

• Handle on-site activation — collect merchant information, confirm discount details, place signage

• Canvas surrounding businesses in each area you visit to identify new leads

• Track activity and submit qualified lead information through our CRM

Who we are looking for

• Prior experience in B2B sales, door-to-door sales, merchant services, insurance, or similar commission-based roles

• Comfortable walking into businesses cold and asking to speak with a decision-maker

• Confident presenting a value proposition and handling objections without a script

• Self-directed and comfortable with a fully commission-based pay structure
