Junior Data Analyst/BI Analyst

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Junior Data Analyst/BI Analyst to support our government customer located in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Description of Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and reusable datasets.
  • Create interactive visualizations that communicate KPIs, trends, and operational performance.
  • Build and optimize data models using DAX, Power Query, and Dataflows.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and cloud platforms.
  • Manage security, scheduled refreshes, and Power BI workspace governance.
  • Troubleshoot performance, refresh, and connectivity issues.
  • Validate data accuracy and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
  • Develop executive briefings, scorecards, and analytical reports.
  • Provide user support and training on dashboards and self-service reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Monitor dashboard reliability and enforce quality assurance standards.
  • Extract and integrate datasets from different sources to establish a unified data architecture, ensuring data consistency
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Degree/Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Advanced experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), Dataflows, and semantic modeling.
  • Strong SQL and data integration skills.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, and star schema design.
  • Experience with Azure SQL, SharePoint, Dataverse, and APIs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Up to three (0-3) years exp in Dashboard or Power BI
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification preferred.
  • Experience in government or large enterprise environments.
Required Citizenship and Clearance:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain an active Secret clearance.
