Job Description:
The Cybersecurity Specialist 3 is an advanced-level security professional responsible for participating in advanced information security projects, performing deep-dive threat hunting, incident response, vulnerability management, and security architecture design. The role focuses on complex and novel threats that bypass automated systems and ensures alignment of people, processes, and technology with the organization’s security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively search for sophisticated threats that evade automated detection.
- Investigate, triage, and respond to security incidents with thorough documentation.
- Conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments and analyze asset discovery data.
- Design and implement security solutions, leveraging threat intelligence platforms.
- Monitor networks for unauthorized activity and respond to incidents.
- Evaluate, optimize, and recommend cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, EDR, and IDS.
- Integrate threat intelligence feeds into platforms like MISP to enhance detection.
Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise with IDS, EDR, and SIEM platforms.
- Strong proficiency in computer science, information systems, and network security.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools.
- Ability to gather, integrate, and analyze threat intelligence.
- Advanced incident response skills and knowledge of best practices.
- Proactive mindset focused on prevention and defense.
Entry Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in technology leadership with emphasis on information security and data governance.
- At least 4 years of experience with SIEM, EDR, and IDS tools.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work schedule.
- On-call rotation or occasional after-hours work in response to incidents.
- Background check, fingerprinting, and compliance with state tax obligations required.
