Job Summary

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing warehouse related functions of handling merchandise and product incoming or outgoing including shipping, receiving, transferring, stocking, picking, and pulling product for customers, vendors, and branch locations as required.

Duties amp; Responsibilities

Warehouse

  • Responsible for general warehouse work as directed, including working in any and all departments within the warehouse relating to freight either incoming or outgoing.

  • Accurately fills sales orders or transfers for product and distributes items to shipping or will call.

  • Adequately assists shipping, receiving, transfers, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to counter staff for processing.

  • Efficiently moves materials and items from receiving or transfer areas to shipping areas or stock locations as designated.

  • Accurately sorts and places product on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

  • Ensures the warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and customer traffic.

  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of their work area.

  • Safely loads and secures products based on standard warehousing procedures.

  • Properly handles bills of lading and performs the proper procedure for notation of exceptions.

  • Safely operates warehouse tools and power industrial equipment.

  • Accurately performs aisle responsibilities as assigned.

  • Properly handles order and receiving log standard operating procedures.

Safety

  • Utilizes safe work processes and compliance with company safety procedures including but not limited to compressed gas tank handling, and two-man lift procedures.

Physical Demands amp; Work Environment

This position may require up to 40–43 hours per week and involves regular physical activity, including:

  • Frequent lifting of 25–50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.

  • Operating forklifts and material handling equipment for up to 6 hours daily.

  • Regular bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.

  • Pushing/pulling objects up to 300 lbs. occasionally.

  • Prolonged use of hands, arms, and feet for equipment operation.

  • Periods of sitting, standing, walking, and twisting throughout the shift.

  • Visual requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment.
