Job description

Manhattan Specialty Care is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Charge Entry Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for accurately entering and reconciling charges for all procedures performed at our Midtown Ambulatory Surgical Center. This includes anesthesia, pathology, and facility charges, all of which will be managed within the eCW and Provation system. The role also requires ongoing reconciliation with the Third party billing team to ensure accuracy and compliance with revenue cycle processes.
• Accurately enter charges for all GI procedures performed by MSC providers, including anesthesia and pathology charges, into the eCW
• Utilize Provation to incorporate operative reports and clinical notes from the clinical team into the charge entry process
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of charges to support the billing and revenue cycle process
• Perform charge reconciliation for all procedures, ensuring all charges are appropriately entered and reflect the actual services performed
• Collaborate with clinical teams to verify procedure details and ensure proper charge capture
• Enter anesthesia-related charges for all procedures, ensuring appropriate codes and modifiers are used
• Validate interfaced pathology charges for specimens, collaborating with the pathology team for accurate charge capture
• Regularly perform reconciliation of entered charges with the Third party billing portal, ensuring that charges align with the billed services and claims
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in charges, working closely with billing teams and other departments to ensure timely resolution
• Monitor for any discrepancies in charge capture and proactively address issues before they impact the revenue cycle
• Ensure all entered data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with all regulatory and payer requirements
• Maintain detailed records of charge entry, reconciliation, and communications related to any discrepancies
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in charge entry or revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting.
• Strong knowledge of eClinicalWorks and experience with Provation software is highly desirable
• Familiarity with anesthesia and pathology charge entry processes is a plus
• Prior experience with charge reconciliation is highly preferred
