What you'll do
- Design, build, and test backend services and APIs, primarily in Rust, with some C++ and Python.
- Work on the software that delivers quantum entropy and keys reliably and securely.
- Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in design and code review.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic development tooling to accelerate your work while owning the correctness and quality of everything you ship.
- Help shape how the team adopts AI-assisted development (instruction conventions, review standards) as the tooling matures.
- Develop an understanding of the domain (quantum random number generation, cryptography, network security) to build and validate our products.
- Collaborate with hardware, product, and other engineers to ship end-to-end.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and/or relevant work experience.
- 3+ years building and shipping backend software.
- Proficiency in Rust, or strong systems-programming experience (C, C++, Go) with a demonstrated ability and eagerness to work primarily in Rust.
- Working familiarity with C++ and Python.
- Solid grasp of backend fundamentals: APIs, services, concurrency, testing, and Linux.
- Fluency with AI and agent-assisted development, and the judgment to apply it where it adds real leverage - reviewing, correcting, and taking full ownership of AI-generated work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. Qrypt does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
