Manager, Rigging
The Manager, Rigging supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of rigging overlay solutions across LA28 venues. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Rigging, this role contributes to the development and implementation of safe, efficient, and fit-for-purpose rigging systems that enable multi-Functional Area, and venue operations.
This position works cross-functionally with venue design, overlay, production, and engineering teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure rigging requirements are integrated into venue delivery plans and executed in line with Games-time needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning and delivery of rigging overlay scopes across assigned venues
  • Coordinate development of rigging layouts, technical drawings, and documentation in collaboration with engineering and design teams
  • Assist in integrating rigging solutions supporting multi-Functional Area coordination and integration of technology requirements
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to support procurement, installation, testing, and removal of rigging systems
  • Ensure rigging activities comply with applicable codes and regulations, engineering standards, stakeholder requirements, and LA28 policies
  • Collaborate with venue overlay and infrastructure teams to align rigging systems with temporary and permanent structures
  • Contribute to budget tracking and cost control efforts for rigging scopes
  • Support development of installation schedules and sequencing within overall venue timelines
  • Identify risks and escalate issues related to rigging design, logistics, and installation
  • Assist in test events and operational readiness planning to confirm systems are safe and functional
  • Support Games-time planning, including operations coordination and issue response
  • Foster a collaborative, safety-first working environment across internal teams and external partner
Background & Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in rigging within live events, sports, entertainment, or related industries
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, theater/live entertainment, or related field
  • Experience working in complex venue environments such as arenas, stadiums, or large-scale events
  • Working knowledge of rigging systems, equipment, and structural coordination principles
  • Experience collaborating with production teams, engineers, and multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with applicable safety standards (OSHA, ANSI, ETCP or similar)
  • Experience supporting vendor or contractor coordination during installation or operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and rigging plans
  • ETCP Rigging Certification preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $155,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
