Your work may include looking for exclusive stories for your network, reporting on current news, and building relationships with celebrities, entertainment companies, and those in their periphery. Your duties also require you to break down the most relevant information and stories. If you work in print or digital journalism, you are also responsible for writing, editing, and uploading or submitting the story. Reporters may use a combination of in-person networking at industry events, social media engagement, and regular communication to nurture their sources. This relationship-building is an ongoing process and a crucial aspect of success in the role.
