Entertainment Public Relations Intern (Unpaid โ€“ For Academic Credit) | Los Angeles


Lobeline Communications is a full-service, Los Angeles based public relations agency specializing in strategic communications and publicity, media planning and digital marketing. Established in 1986, Lobeline Communications is a public relations leader in entertainment, lifestyle, hospitality, celebrity talent and sports business sectors.


We are seeking dynamic and self-motivated Public Relations Interns to support our publicity team on a broad range of accounts in media relations and special events. In this role, youโ€™ll get real, hands-on experience in PR strategy, media relations, and the creative process. Youโ€™ll learn how a PR agency operates and serves clients across sectors, best practices in media relations, brand messaging, and client reporting. Youโ€™ll have access to PR tools like media databases, analytics dashboards, and editorial calendars as well as real-world collaboration and communication skills within a professional team.


This internship opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors as well as candidates studying for their Masterโ€™s Degree in Communications (or relative fields).


Responsibilities:

* Assist with building media lists and editorial calendars daily.

* Monitor daily news for story ideas and media trends.

* Support with tracking news stories and press breaks for a broad client roster.

* Draft biographies, client profiles and other press materials.

* Engage and share ideas in brainstorms and with PR teams.

* Attend All Hands meetings

* Support the account team by preparing presentations, awards entries and other assignments.

* Administrative support as needed.


Qualifications:

* Must be able to provide proof of academic credit for this unpaid internship opportunity.

* Have strong writing skills and knowledge of AP Style/journalism.

* Possess strong verbal and interpersonal skills.

* Express good listening skills, good judgment and instincts when approaching assignments.

* Must be reliable, well-organized and have strong research skills.

* Be proficient in Word, Google Doc, Excel.

* Understanding of the media landscape, both traditional and social platforms.

* Familiarity with PR tools like Muck Rack, Cision, or Meltwater is a bonus.

* Availability in the evenings or weekends to assist at events is preferred.
