Job Description

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. The holder of this position may, at any time, be called to perform any other cognate duties at the request of management.

  • To be responsible, for the operation of the Resort's Entertainment facilities and associated areas in terms of security, cleanliness, safety of customers and emergency procedures.
  • To be alert for spot cleaning needs of all Entertainment facilities and associated areas as directed by the Head of Entertainment. This will include assisting for the cleaning of the entertainment performance location.
  • To support internal and external marketing and promotions to achieve maximum utilisation of the Resort's premises.
  • To prepare entertainment venue for performance and special event operations.
  • To maintain schedules for entertainment venues and to respond to requests for use of venues.
  • To participate in event set-up and dismantling.
  • To report immediately any incident/accident incurred in the vicinity of the resort to the Head of Entertainment.
  • To assist the Head of Entertainment in the implementation of the recreation programme by ensuring that the needs of guests, staff and external users are met.
  • To ensure that the sport facilities and equipment are properly prepared and reinstated according to the programme of activities.
  • To actively promote the Recreational activities to guests.
  • To provide back up and support within the staffing structure and carry out the duties of another member of the Entertainment team in the event of absence, holiday or illness.
  • To keep regular checks on all recreation facilities and equipment to ensure that repairs and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • To control the facilities provided including changing rooms, toilets and playing areas.
  • To ensure that all sports equipment in the Sports stores are kept tidy and to be responsible for the issuing (signing in and out), and recording of any losses and damages.
  • To ensure that equipment for groups are prepared and made available for matches. 
  • To direct the activities of users to prevent injury, misuse and damage to facilities or equipment.
  • To undertake other discreet areas of responsibility and/or specific projects as may be required and agreed, from time to time by the Head of Entertainment.
  • To attend operational meetings and event planning sessions.
  • To work a shift pattern as determined by the Head of Entertainment subject to the operational requirements of the Resort, including evening and weekend work.
  • To provide musical performances under the guidance of the Head of Entertainment according to the hotel entertainment program
  • Ability to work with youngsters and adults.
  • Plan, coordinate and schedule to complete job request with limited supervision
  • Propose entertainment program on monthly basis
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
  • Perform any other duties as required by Management
  • Ensures that a safe, hygienically fit working environment is maintained at all times and reports any concerns or faults immediately.
  • Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy 
  • Promote energy efficiency and environment friendly actions
  • Participate in training as and when required my Management
  • Maintains highest levels of personal hygiene and grooming at all times, as per standard.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of  3 years' experience in the hospitality industry on a similar position and in operating complex lighting and sounds systems
  • Ability to undertake musical performances
  • SC holder OR equivalent
  • National Certificate Level 3 or equivalent
  • Fluent in English and French, both verbal and written
