Job Summary/Basic Function
As a Mascot Entertainer/Assistant, this position comprises itself of two main portions. The first of which is being the anonymous student wearing the Rambo outfit at events such as football games, charity events, photo shoots, etc. Your role as Rambo at campus events is to bring a lively energy of both excitement and community to said events. This is possible by bringing Rambo's personality to life for both children, students, community members, and more. Rambo is a happy character and representing his character in good faith at these events is necessary.
Commonly this position will require interacting with people, doing physical activities, appearing publicly in front of crowds, etc. The second aspect of this job is interchangeable with the Mascot role, which is the Mascot Handler aspect of the position. Navigating events in a costume can be difficult, therefore Rambo is often attending events alongside an assistant to help lead Rambo through crowds, find locations, and help follow a timely schedule. Individuals with this job will often take turns with other people of the same title, swapping either being in the suit or leading, making all Rambo attendances two person tasks. Being able to do both sides of this position and support your fellow Rambo team members is necessary for success.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Required to fit into mascot uniform.
2. Attend mandatory Rambo events as supplied by the schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Open schedule to attend Rambo events requested with little time in advance. 2.
2. Experience in mascotting in high school, university, or recreational events.
3. Sociable, good with both children and community members for photoshoots and group interactions.
4. Detail-oriented personality to stay up to date with Rambo's schedule.
A cumulative GPA of 2.2 at Shepherd University or if you are an upcoming freshman, a high school GPA of 2.75 or higher
