Job Description: Title: Director of Enrollment Management Position Type: College: Trinidad State College Division: Academic Affairs Department: Campus: Trinidad Main Campus Location: Trinidad Salary Range: $62,000 - $70,000 Who We Are: Trinidad State College, located in Trinidad, Colorado, is a state-supported, two-year institution of higher education. The College was established by an act of the State Legislature in 1925, and is the oldest public two-year college in the State of Colorado. The College’s Service Area includes eight rural counties characterized by low population density and small communities. One campus is located in Trinidad and is a residential campus while the other, located in Alamosa, is a commuter campus. Both campuses serve distinct populations. As a comprehensive Community College, Trinidad State College not only offers ongoing transfer Associate of Arts Degree and Associate of Applied Science (vocational) Degree programs but also has developed and implemented numerous successful short-term vocational certificate programs, and totally inclusive adult education and developmental programs. Job Summary: The Director of Enrollment Management provides focused operational and programmatic leadership for student recruitment, admissions, onboarding, enrollment services, re-enrollment, enrollment growth, coordinated student-success practices, and enrollment planning across all Trinidad State campuses and instructional sites. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director leads assigned enrollment-services personnel and is accountable for consistent, timely, student-centered operations across both campuses. This position collaborates closely with the Dean of Students, Academic Deans, Financial Aid, Advising, TRIO, the Registrar, Institutional Research, Adult Education, Workforce Development, Marketing, and other institutional stakeholders to implement coordinated enrollment strategies and operating plans that support the college's mission and serve the unique needs of rural Colorado communities. The Director is responsible for leading the functions within the position's authority to strengthen the prospective-student experience; improve inquiry-to-enrollment conversion, onboarding, and re-enrollment; expand access for adult learners, first-generation students, Hispanic/Latino students, rural populations, and other underserved groups; and use timely data to improve operations and support institutional enrollment goals. Overall enrollment, persistence, and completion are shared institutional outcomes.Role Scope For this position, "student success" refers primarily to successful entry and transition into the College, completion of enrollment steps, effective navigation and referral, continuing-student re-enrollment, and the reduction of administrative barriers. The Director coordinates closely with, but does not supplant the authority of, academic advising, TRIO, Financial Aid, the Registrar, Academic Affairs, or the Dean of Students unless additional functions are formally assigned. Duties & Responsibilities: The duties below describe the primary responsibilities of the position. Priorities and specific assignments may be adjusted by the Vice President for Student Affairs to meet institutional needs.Staff Leadership and Enrollment Operations • Supervise, coach, evaluate, and develop assigned employees; establish individual and team goals, clarify decision authority, and create accountability for results. • Establish consistent service standards, staffing plans, cross-training, and campus coverage so prospective and current students receive timely, accurate support at both campuses and through remote service channels. • Document and continuously improve workflows for inquiry management, application processing, admissions communications, enrollment navigation, onboarding, and assigned records/cashiering functions in coordination with the Registrar and Business Office. • Lead the day-to-day use of customer relationship management (CRM), student information, communication, and case-management systems within the unit; ensure staff adoption, accurate data entry, appropriate follow-up, and reliable reporting. • Manage assigned operating budgets, recruitment resources, vendor relationships, and event expenditures in accordance with College policies. • Ensure assigned functions comply with FERPA, applicable federal and state requirements, Colorado Community College System and College policies, admissions and residency procedures, data-privacy expectations, and financial controls applicable to assigned cashiering duties.Enrollment Planning and Execution • Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, develop and execute an annual enrollment-services operating plan and contribute operational expertise to the College's broader strategic enrollment planning. • Coordinate cross-campus enrollment initiatives involving Student Services, Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, Advising, Marketing, and Workforce Development within the Director's assigned scope and authority. • Coordinate recruitment, admissions, onboarding, registration-readiness, re-enrollment, and enrollment-growth activities, with clear handoffs to advising, Financial Aid, the Registrar, Academic Affairs, and other support areas. • Recommend annual unit goals and operational targets to the Vice President for Student Affairs; monitor progress, communicate results, and implement timely corrective actions. • Use inquiry, application, yield, and enrollment data to identify recruitment and conversion opportunities and communicate relevant observations to Academic Affairs, Workforce Development, Marketing, and executive leadership. • Translate institutional enrollment priorities into staff work plans, recruitment calendars, service standards, and measurable performance expectations.Recruitment and Outreach • Direct recruitment activities for traditional, non-traditional, transfer, and adult learners. Include new, returning, stopped out, and other populations identified in the College's enrollment plan. • Develop targeted recruitment initiatives for populations identified in institutional enrollment priorities, which may include: o First-generation students o Hispanic/Latino students o Rural communities o Returning adult learners o Concurrent enrollment students o GED and Adult Education students • Build relationships with high schools, community organizations, employers, and regional agencies. • Coordinate college fairs, campus visits, community outreach events, and recruitment campaigns. • Maintain an annual recruitment and outreach plan with defined markets, staff assignments, lead-follow-up expectations, event objectives, and post-event assessment. • Ensure timely, personalized follow-up to inquiries and prospects through approved communication channels and the College's CRM. • Partner with Marketing to define priority audiences, campaign timing, calls to action, and funnel requirements; ensure recruitment and enrollment information is accurate, current, and student-centered.Admissions, Enrollment Services, and Onboarding • Provide day-to-day leadership for assigned admissions, enrollment-navigation, and enrollment-services functions from initial inquiry through registration, ensuring consistent practices and service expectations across campuses. • Oversee timely application processing, completion review, admissions and next-step communications, and referral of issues requiring action by the Registrar, Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, or other offices. • Design and maintain a clear, documented onboarding pathway that helps students complete required enrollment steps and connects them to advising, Financial Aid, placement/testing, accessibility services, the Registrar, the Business Office, and other resources. • Coordinate enrollment events, registration campaigns, and high-volume service periods; establish escalation protocols for complex student cases and unresolved administrative barriers. • Monitor incomplete applications, missing enrollment steps, admitted-student yield, and enrollment melt; assign and evaluate targeted follow-up. • Coordinate assigned admissions/records/cashiering services with the Registrar and Business Office to preserve data integrity, policy compliance, appropriate internal controls, and a seamless student experience.Adult Education and Returning Student Enrollment • Coordinate recruitment, transition, and enrollment processes that connect Adult Education students to appropriate certificate and degree programs. • Create strategies to re-engage stopped-out students and former attendees. • Collaborate with workforce and community partners to recruit adult learners seeking career advancement and retraining opportunities. • Ensure recruitment and enrollment communications accurately promote available online, evening, hybrid, and workforce-focused options. • Lead continuing-student and stop-out re-enrollment campaigns in coordination with advising Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, the Registrar, and Institutional Research.Academic Collaboration • Partner with Academic Deans to identify enrollment opportunities within academic programs. • Provide current funnel and enrollment information, in partnership with Institutional Research, to support academic scheduling, capacity, and program-planning conversations. • Contribute prospective-student feedback and enrollment observations to program review and planning; formal market analysis, academic quality, and program-viability decisions remain shared institutional responsibilities. • Advise on recruitment, admissions, onboarding, and prospective-student demand considerations for proposed or modified programs.Student Transition, Re-enrollment, and Success Coordination • Collaborate with Advising, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs to improve student persistence and completion. The Director's primary contribution is effective onboarding, navigation, referral, registration, and re-enrollment. • Monitor the enrollment funnel from inquiry through registration and re-enrollment; partner with Institutional Research, advising, and academic leaders to review relevant persistence and completion indicators. • Identify and address administrative, communication, and process barriers within the prospect-to-enrollment and re-enrollment journey; elevate broader academic, financial, or student-support barriers to the appropriate leader. • Coordinate enrollment-related interventions such as missing-step outreach, onboarding completion, registration reminders, re-enrollment campaigns, and stop-out recovery. • Establish warm-handoff and referral protocols so students are connected promptly to advising, Financial Aid, TRIO, accessibility, wellbeing, career, academic, and other services without unnecessary repetition or delay. Data Analysis and Reporting • Produce timely recruitment, admissions, conversion, onboarding, and re-enrollment reports for the Vice President for Student Affairs and other leaders, in coordination with Institutional Research. • Analyze enrollment trends by program, population, geography, and demographic groups. • Maintain operational funnel dashboards and partner with Institutional Research on institutional enrollment forecasts and predictive analyses. • Present enrollment data, operational findings, and recommendations through the Vice President for Student Affairs and to other groups as requested. • Utilize CRM and student information systems to enhance enrollment effectiveness. Establish data-entry, contact, follow-up, and reporting expectations for assigned staff and regularly audit data quality. • Track measures such as inquiry response time, application completion, processing timeliness, funnel conversion, yield, onboarding completion, enrollment melt, re-enrollment, recruitment activity, and service satisfaction.Financial Aid and Cross-Functional Enrollment Coordination • Collaborate with Financial Aid to maximize access and affordability for students. • Ensure enrollment strategies align with financial aid outreach efforts. • Coordinate student communication campaigns throughout the enrollment cycle. • Promote seamless student experiences from inquiry through registration. • Develop clear service handoffs, shared calendars, escalation protocols, and peak-period operating plans with Financial Aid, advising, the Registrar, Academic Affairs, the Business Office, Marketing, TRIO, and the Dean of Students.Community and Institutional Partnerships • Represent the College and the enrollment function at assigned recruitment, educational, community, and regional partnership activities, as designated by the Vice President for Student Affairs. • Develop relationships with employers and workforce partners to support enrollment growth. • Coordinate with the College's concurrent-enrollment and K-12 partnership leaders to support the transition and matriculation of students into Trinidad State certificate and degree pathways. • Strengthen regional partnerships that expand access for underserved and underrepresented populations and track resulting inquiries, applications, and enrollments.Compliance, Assessment, and Other Responsibilities • Maintain current written procedures, training materials, calendars, and service expectations for assigned functions; review them regularly for accuracy and effectiveness. • Use student feedback, staff input, process measures, and outcome data to assess services and implement continuous improvement. • Participate in College committees, planning activities, accreditation or compliance work, and special projects as assigned. • Perform other duties reasonably related to the position and as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. • Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, enrollment services, advising/student success, registrar operations, or a closely related higher education function. • At least two years of direct supervision, formal team leadership, or responsibility for assigning work and evaluating staff performance. • Demonstrated experience using data and analytics to drive enrollment decisions. • Demonstrated experience managing or substantially using CRM, student information, communication, or case-management systems to improve workflow and results. • Experience working with diverse student populations. • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, establish service standards, manage multiple deadlines, and lead cross-functional implementation. • Ability and willingness to maintain a regular in-person presence at both campuses, travel throughout the service region, and work occasional evenings or weekends
