Academic Tutor – In-Class Middle School Math

Sonoma Middle School – Sonoma, CA

Do you enjoy helping students build confidence in math and achieve academic success? Bay Area Tutoring Association (BATA) is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and student-centered Academic Tutors to provide in-class math support at Sonoma Middle School.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly alongside classroom teachers, support students in small groups and one-on-one, and make a meaningful impact during the school day.

Location:

  • Sonoma Middle School, 7330 Sonoma Highway, Sonoma, CA 95476

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:45 AM and 2:55 PM

Start Date:

  • September 8, 2026

Position Summary

As an Academic Tutor, you will provide in-class support to middle school students in Math 6 or Math 8. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will reinforce instruction, provide individualized and small-group support, and help students build both their math skills and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class academic support during Math 6 or Math 8 instruction.
  • Reinforce grade-level math concepts aligned with classroom instruction.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups to support student learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure instructional consistency.
  • Participate in paid planning and instructional alignment meetings.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
