Job description


Instructor for English Language
Language: English
Location: Fountain Inn, South Carolina, United States.
Employment type: Freelance.
Student: One adult male student seeking to learn English.
Student English level: Intermediate (student has taken 1 year ESL course).
Student native language: Spanish (Mexico)
Schedule: Weekdays (5pm - 6pm) and/or Saturdays (9am - 10am)
Start Date: Early September
Length of Contract: Up to 20 hours
In STAR7 (https://www.star-7.com/en) we support our customers throughout the product information and content life cycle. STAR7 started its activity as a Language Service Provider more than 20 years ago and it is still expanding worldwide.
The STAR7 LLC Academy team works with clients such as companies and relocation companies to provide language training for families moving to new countries.
We are currently recruiting a Freelance English Language Instructor to deliver in-person lessons to an adult male student in Fountain Inn, South Carolina (US). This assignment may also lead to additional opportunities in the future, supporting other students (virtual and/or in-person).
Key Responsibilities - in this role you will:
  • Design and deliver engaging one-to-one lessons tailored to the student's level, goals, and learning style.
  • Focus on build on current English skills to improve communication in both casual and working settings.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Encourage active participation and build the student's confidence in speaking and understanding English.
  • Adapt teaching methods and pace based on the student's evolving needs.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with the student and project manager.

Requirements
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English.
  • Proven experience in teaching/instructuring English as a second language, preferably in a one-to-one setting.
  • Strong knowledge of English grammar, pronunciation, and usage.
  • Ability to create engaging and personalized lesson plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered approach.
  • A degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is a plus.
