Company Description Lincoln Literacy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska, dedicated to strengthening the local community through language and literacy education. The organization provides English language learning and a variety of literacy skills to adults and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Lincoln Literacy partners with volunteers, community agencies, and funders to make education accessible and responsive to learner needs. Team members help create welcoming, inclusive learning environments that support newcomers and long-term residents alike. Role Description The Part-Time Coordinator, English Language Learning will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of English language classes and related literacy programs at Lincoln Literacy’s on-site location in Lincoln, NE. Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling classes, communicating with instructors and learners, maintaining accurate attendance and program records, and helping ensure classrooms and materials are prepared. The coordinator will assist with learner intake and placement, provide guidance to volunteers and instructors, and help address learner questions or concerns in a timely, respectful manner. The role also involves collaborating with staff to improve program quality, supporting outreach to community partners, and contributing to the development of culturally responsive learning activities. This is a part-time, on-site role that requires regular in-person presence and occasional evening or weekend hours based on program needs.
Qualifications
  • English language instruction and coordination skills, including familiarity with English Language Learning (ELL) or English as a Second Language (ESL) classroom environments.
  • Program coordination and administrative skills, such as scheduling, recordkeeping, and organizing class materials and resources.
