Job description

Language Trainers is a successful language training company working with freelance teachers of 70 different languages in hundreds of towns and cities across the world. Students are either in-company or self-funded who need to learn a language at their office or their home for work, family or travel reasons. We might have a job for you as an English teacher.
One of our clients in Tempe would like to have one-to-one GENERAL English classes.
This student wishes to have classes at your office/home or in a public place nearTempe, 85281. He would like to have a 52-hour course. Classes of two hours should be held 5-6 times per week so that he can complete the 50-hour package in about four weeks. He is generally available from Monday to Saturday between 2 pm and 7 pm, but he can be flexible to match the trainer's schedule, and he wishes to start asap.
Information about the student:
Estimated Current Language Level: Lower Intermediate
Native language: Chinese
*Motivation: to improve his English quickly for university study in the U.S. He wants to become more confident and accurate in speaking and writing, and he hopes to build the skills he needs to succeed in his academic courses.
Student's age group: B: 18-24
*Comments about how student has been learning the language: Duolingo
*Aspect of the language mostly interested in? Speaking and writing are his main priorities, with additional practice in listening and reading for the Duolingo English Test.
*Client's other comments/ specific requirements: His current Duolingo English Test score is around 80. His goal is to reach 95 or higher in about four weeks. He would like a very intensive course with detailed correction and homework, especially for speaking and writing tasks similar to the Duolingo English
*Location. He would like face-to-face lessons in or near the ASU Tempe campus, for example in a quiet public place such as a library or cafรฉ. He is also open to having lessons at the trainer's office if it is close to Tempe.
  • Be a native Chines/English speaker of the language OR hold a teaching degree
  • Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter
  • Have a valid working visa
  • Live up to 20 miles from the client's location.

Location of the classes and schedule could be flexible based on your and the client's availability. The hourly rate is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. This is a freelance part-time position and we are not able to sponsor your visa.
