The English Department at Perimeter College gives students far more than skills, rules and basic elements of good writing. In our courses, students gain the ability to think analytically and critically. That's important today, when employers seek candidates who can problem solve in an ever-changing world. At Perimeter College, students learn how to communicate effectively, how to think creatively and how to clearly articulate a well-reasoned solution.
Position Description
Perimeter College is seeking part-time instructors in ENGLISH who will play a key role in educating and supporting students.
The English Department also staffs college English classes for Dual Enrollment students in metro-Atlanta high schools, and occasionally staffs online courses for instructors experienced in online teaching.
Required Experience
None Specified.
Required Education
To qualify to teach ENGLISH, applicants MUST have:
A minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Teaching experience is preferred.
Online teaching experience is preferred if seeking online appointment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to teach ENGLISH courses on the collegiate level
  • Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods
  • Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning
