Job description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Manufacturing team as a Process Engineering Technician I in Lewiston, Idaho. SHIFT: Weekend Swing, (Fri-Mon, 12pm to 10:30pm)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Assist in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Document, modify, and maintain manufacturing related procedures.
  • Manage the procurement of assembly process tools.
  • Train operators and support staff as needed.
  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems
  • Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
  • Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis
  • Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics

Pay Range Data - $32.88 - $48.60 per hour (plus weekend differential: $3.00/hr)
We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at a level I, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
Level I: $32.88 - $48.60 per hour
Level II: $35.83 - $52.94 per hour
