We are searching for a solid professional to join our inTEST family as an Electronics Mechatronics Engineer that reports directly to the Director of Engineering and works at our Penang Malaysia facility. This critical role supports the EMS business and is a part of the Electronic Test division. This division is on a trajectory of growth and provides an opportunity to support a global organization.
Job Summary:
The Electronics/Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for designing support circuitry, software, controls systems for test head positioners, docking hardware, and other electromechanical interfaces. Organizational knowledge of test heads and related handlers and probers, as well as specific customer requirements will be used to define the control systems I/O, feedback, and operational parameters. The position formulates and effectively utilizes partnerships across the engineering disciplines to deliver value-added solutions to our customer critical challenges and reflects the business objectives of all stakeholders.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES :
  • Create control system designs to solve customer equipment applications.
  • Specify electrical and electromechanical components.
  • Interface with world wide engineering team and attend design reviews.
  • Interface with sales team and attend product concept/status review meetings.
  • Develop software that meets design requirements for the proposed control systems.
  • Create technical drawings to define control systems.
  • Use AutoCAD for schematics which includes electrical, process and control network along with Panel and enclosure layouts and modifications.
  • Develop, capture and lead fabrication efforts of prototype to production control systems.
  • Lead technicians/CAD designers on appropriate aspects of control system
  • Participate in equipment conceptual development and carefully balance system specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and timelines.
  • Interface with both suppliers and customers remotely and on site when needed.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related degree; required.
  • Expert PLC experience; required.
  • Experience with electrical and automation components (PLCs, switches, microcontrollers, motor controllers, VFDs, relays, sensors array, etc.); preferred.
  • Experience in custom system level circuit design and PCB design; preferred
  • Experience AutoCAD/Solidworks knowledge with electrical applications, control systems, mechanical components, and fabricated parts; preferred.
  • 3 years or more of experience with industrial automation (motion control, robotics, laser systems, machine vision, etc.); preferred
