Overview

Open to External candidates. Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician - Mechanic, supporting TOS II, at Tunnel 9 in White Oak, Maryland. The Engineering Technician will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will perform the role of an Engineering Technician with the primary responsibilities of operating and maintaining industrial machinery. The candidate will perform manual work required to operate, maintain, and repair areas of an engineering wind tunnel test facility. 

Job Duties:

  • Perform routine and moderate complexity tasks under the close supervision or from detailed procedures such as:
  • Technical, mechanical, and electrical work to support safe operation and maintenance of various industrial machinery.
  • Inspects, troubleshoot, maintain, and operate various mechanical and test systems, such as gas and liquid pumps, compressors, high pressure tubing systems, valves, cylinders, etc.
  • Begin training to become a qualified operator of various industrial control systems.
  • Accomplishes maintenance and servicing work required to place and keep test facility equipment in operation.
  • Assemble and disassemble precision mechanical components in a lab environment as well as in the field.
  • Operate various hand and machine tools and become qualified to operate large equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • M04: Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • 5 years of progressive and relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and progressive and relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with adhering to safety regulations and procedures in a high-risk setting.
