Job description

We are a leading manufacturer of laser measuring and metrology products. Our systems are used in a variety of industries including aerospace, shipbuilding, heavy equipment manufacturing, machine tool, energy and construction verticals. At the corporate headquarters in Rockville, MD, we are currently seeking to add to the team a Product Engineer .
Role:
Provide testing of new products before shipment and of incoming products for repair and calibration. Perform failure analysis and provide corrective action, which may include interacting with engineering for design changes or product improvements. Participate in and prepare customer site visits and equipment delivery as well as technical support for trade shows and exhibitions. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Regional Sales Managers, field sales representatives, distributors, and new and existing customers.
Tasks:
Provide technical support in person and via telephone.
Work with product managers, research & development engineers to support customer requirements.
Provide equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force, and acting as technical liaison to the sales team.
Work with QA to ensure customer satisfaction.
Diagnose and debug product issues in the field.
Utilize software experience to craft software demonstrations to a diverse client base.
Work with the customer and business development team to support pre and post-sales efforts.
Specialize in understanding the API product suite and providing recommendations for the best solutions to meet customer needs.
Provide technical training and consulting to customers.
Coordinate and execute the installation, training and service of solutions for customers.
Requirements:
BS Engineering preferred
Excellent organization, communication and documentation skills and the ability to effectively present information.
Familiar with optical or laser measurement tools, CAD/CAM software a plus.
