Job Description
ATS is seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Technician with Electrical experience to join our team in supporting Science & Technology Code X at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Panama City Division.
To be successful as an Engineering Technician, you should demonstrate a sound understanding of Depot-Level (D-Level) activities, performing maintenance or repair involving the overhaul, upgrading, rebuilding, testing, inspection, and reclamation (as necessary) of Science & Technology Department (Code X) Laboratories, equipment end items, parts, components, assemblies, and subassemblies. You should be able to troubleshoot equipment, communicate effectively under pressure, and provide effective suggestions for improvement.
Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems.
  • Inspecting, testing hardware, and modifying systems per engineering changes.
  • Conducting research, collecting data, and writing daily reports.
  • Use CAD designs and implement feedback from Engineers.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Fleet, including on-site engineering investigations and consultant engineering.
  • Conduct supply support, coordination for procuring, kitting, and delivery for Science & Technology Department (Code X) Laboratories.
  • Running tests, diagnostics, and calibrations.
  • Conducting experiments and investigations under the guidance of Engineers.
  • Inspecting inventory and reordering materials and technical components.
  • Analyzing operations and offering suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintaining records and assisting with presentations.
  • Attending conferences and participating in other learning and growth opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Vast knowledge of Electrical work such as schematics and electrical boxes
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Haystack, CMPRO, Microsoft Office software suite-Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgement with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
