Northrop Grumman is looking for an Engineering Technician 2 to support our Structural Analysis and Test team. As a member of the team, you will work in a fast-paced, highly skilled environment alongside other test technicians and engineers. This position will serve on-site at the test facility located at the Launch Vehicles Division, Chandler, AZ facility.
Responsibilities:
• Provides technical support in the Structural Test Bay by working with fellow technicians and engineers to develop, build, test, and document testing of hardware for the Launch Vehicles Division.
• Individuals must have a strong mechanical aptitude while having the desire to ensure the highest overall job quality.
• Individuals must have good communication skills, both orally and written as the desired candidate will work closely with other technicians and engineers.
• Record, maintain, format, and report technical data.
• Engineering Technician will be asked to assist with the design of test setups and should be able to respond quickly under dynamically changing scenarios.
• Provide mechanical support to assembling fixtures and test setups.
Basic Qualifications for Engineering Technician Level 2:
• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of additional education and/or related experience
• Positive attitude - vocal contributor - team player
• Experience working with engineering drawings, schematics, work packages, data recording
• Good mechanical aptitude, problem solver.
• Ability to perform hands-on work, from small detailed work to working with large heavy objects
• Proficient with hand tools
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Desire to balance technical, schedule, cost, and resources in order to meet overall company objectives
• Basic computer knowledge, working with MS Office product line
• US citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications for Engineering Technician Level 2:
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Costpoint, and MES is a plus
• Working with pressurized hydraulics is benefit
• Forklift experience
• Crane operations and overhead lifting of large heavy objects (like structural steel)
• Soldering experience
• Instrumentation experience (installing/bonding strain gages and linear displacement transducers)Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required and should be noted on the resume. Proof of certification may be requested.

Experience
  • Skilled in managing project with implementations across large organizations. Experience should include developing and managing project plans, documenting risks, issues, and contingency plans
  • Ability to research, gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to devise solutions to problems; and to prepare concise reports and/or to analyze and solve complex and difficult problems
  • Experience overseeing the development of SDLC artifacts, ensure business requirements get translated into technical specifications, guide, and facilitate the SDLC process
  • Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with multiple project sponsors and stakeholder. Must possess strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to appropriately summarize and escalate issues and develop and present weekly status updates and conduct regular project team meetings
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Agile methodology, overseeing and tracking development progress, and ensuring project assignments align with project timelines
  • Agile Experience - Managing the project with feature driven sprints
  • Experience implementing and using agile methodologies and best practices for 1 or more State of Texas Agencies
  • Prior experience in healthcare or Public Health
