ENGINEERING (CONTROLS) INTERN

JOB SUMMARY:
We have an opportunity for an Engineering Intern at our Avancez – Ft Wayne Facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn from plant Manufacturing and Controls Engineers and Process Experts 

  • Implement Create Ideas and drive Continuous Improvement 

  • Assist engineering team with completing automation, tooling, lean, and other engineering projects 

  • Prepare presentations, technical documents, and other project documentation Assist troubleshooting, debugging, and developing improvements with auto and semi-auto assembly equipment 

  • Coordinate with others to determine root cause and implement permanent solutions 

  • Perform and document control system testing 

  • Review reports and test results to help develop or implement permanent improvements 

  • Develop How To instructions for all levels of operations 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Working towards a degree from an accredited College or University in Engineering 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel  

  • Good communication skills  

  • Good troubleshooting skills 

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs 

TRAVEL:

Travel Required: Minimal

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Safety Conscious 

  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week 

  • Punctual and efficient 

  • Self-motivated Results driven success including researching, designing and executing new technologies and or processes. 

  • Assist with hands on troubleshooting independently or within teams 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills 

  • Personal skills include the ability to work well with others, team spirit, flexibility with personal schedule to support operations 

  • Passion for learning and applying controls solution to manufacturing opportunities 

  • Microsoft Office tools experience required
