Job description

Responsibilities
The ideal Systems Engineer will possess the knowledge and technical expertise to support the team during the entire Systems Engineering life cycle. We are seeking a forward leaning self-starter capable of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced environment. They will be expected to support multiple efforts and will assist the customer in making informed decisions related to requirements and developments. Candidate will perform traditional Systems Engineering and Project Management activities for RF systems to include the following tasks/duties:
  • Collaborate with customer and stakeholders to understand mission needs then develop Concept of Operations documents
  • Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets (link budgets, noise figure, gain, etc.)
  • Capture and document user, functional, and technical requirements
  • Perform analysis and allocation of requirements to systems and segments
  • Provide project management support, development of project plans, integration and test support and initial solution definition
  • Conduct system verification and validation, including lab testing and field testing of RF systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, software, test, and manufacturing) to drive projects to completion
  • Coordinate and participate in technical exchange meetings (TEMS)
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues and recommend design improvements
  • Prepare technical documentation, including requirements, test plans, and design reviews
  • Identify technical, CI and operational risks and recommend mitigations
  • Creating briefings to support Control Gates

Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • A Bachelor's Degree and eight (8) years of relevant experience; or a master's degree and six (6) years of relevant experience. An additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer providing the above services
  • Strong written, communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to prepare and brief complex technical and non-technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Have demonstrated experience with RF communication systems, technologies, and concepts
  • Strong understanding of RF principles (e.g., modulation, propagation, impedance matching, filtering)
  • Be a self-starter who will take initiative for helping manage key parts of complex technical developments.
  • Possess a desire and ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects and be willing and able to aggressively learn the activities and focus of the organization.
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
