As a Field Service Specialist -Southeast, you’ll be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring seamless startup, commissioning, and maintenance of Armstrong’s innovative products.

Specific Duties / Essential Functions:

Field Service Activities:

  • Hands-On Expertise: Lead the startup and commissioning of Armstrong equipment, including Variable Frequency Drives and Control Panels.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues with our diverse range of equipment, from pumps to automated valves.
  • Reporting & Training: Document your work through our online portal, provide on-site training to operators, and share field service insights with our After Sales team.
  • Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, demonstrating the value of Armstrong’s products and identify opportunities for additional sales.
  • Travel: Expect to travel within the Western region up to 60% of the time, with occasional trips to other parts of the USA.

Customer Service Activities:

  • Customer Support: Handle service requests, complaints, and startup inquiries via calls and emails. Schedule and manage service visits effectively.
  • On-Call Rotation: Be part of a team providing after-hours support to address urgent service issues.

Training Responsibilities:

  • Educate: Conduct training sessions for service and installation teams, as well as for mechanical contractors, to enhance their knowledge of Armstrong products.
  • Report Analysis: Compile and review field reports to ensure equipment performance and warranty adherence.
  • Connectivity: Assist with connecting site equipment to the Internet or customer networks.

Technical Support:

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, project management, and sales teams to support product development and project-specific initiatives.
  • Feedback: Identify and report on product issues and contribute to process and design improvements.



What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

  • Education: Degree or designation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Engineering, or a related field, with equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Drives, control panels, BAS systems, and automation. Familiarity with serial communications is a plus.
  • Hands-On Experience: Proven experience with mechanical pumps and HVAC systems.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and strong software skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in commercial construction is desirable, along with a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of hydronic HVAC systems, Variable Frequency Drives, automation, and Building Automation Controls is preferred.
