Lochner, an Egis company is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager & Traffic engineer to lead and support projects or traffic design tasks under larger projects within Utah and the West Region. The ideal candidate would have experience in preparing plans for signing/striping, lighting, traffic signals, ITS, and intersections along with preparing plans for Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) for large-design build projects for UDOT and/or other local governments.

Your impact:

  • Leads design of traffic engineering projects or traffic design tasks under larger projects
  • Prepares plans for signing/striping, lighting, traffic signals, ITS, and intersections
  • Prepares plans for Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) for large-design build projects
  • Basic traffic simulation/modeling using HCS, SYNCHRO, CORSIM and VISSIM
  • Prepares traffic impact analysis and other related traffic reports
  • Review construction plans, design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure completeness, accuracy, constructability, and conformity to local standards or best engineering practices.
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Be responsible for the quality assurance and quality control through the development and review of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Responsible for preparing project reports and feasibility studies.
  • Be a team player who could work with all staff levels.
  • Lead aspects of project pursuit teams and participate in the development of a project proposal and/or interview.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 6+ years of traffic engineering design and operations experience.
  • Professional Engineer License required. Desirable Professional Engineer License in Utah.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relations through finding new project work, contract negotiations, and project delivery
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Microstation / OpenRoads Designer. Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, Synchro, and Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards and guidelines such as the UDOT Standard Drawings & Specifications, Highway Design Manual and associated Design Information Bulletins, and various other local municipal design standards.
  • The ability to work with our talented marketing team to support project pursuits, including the development of project proposals (written, presentations, interviews etc.).
  • Advanced level of technical writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
