Job description

Position Description:
EV's, Digital & Design (EVDD) is currently seeking a Project Control Engineer to join our Powertrain and Electrified Controls (PTEC) team. This position provides exposure to new features on Ford's various platforms including BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), Hybrid, and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and how they are developed to provide new customer experiences. As a Project Control Engineer, you will drive Powertrain Software deliverables and timelines to support Past, Present and Future Programs through corporate milestones.

Daily Duties:
? Lead Powerpack Program Management Sub Teams (PMST)
? Manage achievement of Program Targets / Milestones
? Program and Release management through Jira based work systems.
? Timing- ensure delivery for program for achievements, and build events, and calibration release requirements
? Quality - facilitate implementation of software technology/designs needed to achieve program and department quality objectives
? Represent Powertrain and Electrified Controls (PTEC) as key contact with Powertrain Program Management Team (PMT). This includes being contact to cascade information from the program to the PTEC team, as well as issue resolution with PTEC engineers and program teams.

  • Change Management, Cross-functional, Critical Thinking, Engineering Management, Jira, Project Management, Project Manager, Project Planning Change Management
    The ability to handle several change requests, establishing priority and ruling out those without value, and outlining quality roleout plan.
  • Cross-functional - The role sits at the center of several interfacing teams (Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, Service). Experience dealing with cross functional teams is paramount to this role.
  • Critical Thinking - Issues in this role can be complex. A good candidate would be able to apply critical thinking to help aid with root cause and investigation direction.
  • Engineering Management - The ability to handle several engineering requests, establishing priority and ruling out those without value, and outlining quality roleout plan.
  • Jira - The work in this role is heavily integrated in to Jira. Experience in Jira based work is highly recommended.
  • Project Management / Project Manager - The role will require leadership of a vehicle line and its delivery through corporate milestones / launch. Robust project management experience is key to assuring a robust delivery of our work products.
  • Project Planning - The role will require comprehensive planning of work test to assure a balance is struck between several competing workstreams (Service, Current Production, Future Product Launch).

Experience Required:
Engineering Program or project management experience required

Experience working with multi-functional teams, creating a collaboration across organizations, cultures and regions

Experience Preferred:
Experience with agile based work strategies
Experience with Jira / Atlassian based work tracking systems.

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree
