Job description

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you'll do: The Senior Product Engineer plays a critical role in the design, development, and lifecycle management of Eaton's M-Force product line, a family of distribution-class, three-phase overhead load break switches used in medium-voltage electric utility distribution systems. This highly visible position is responsible for driving new product development, engineering-to-order solutions, continuous product improvement, cost competitiveness, and ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.

In addition, this role supports the design and development of medium- and high-voltage surge arresters, working with a wide range of technologies including ceramic MOV varistor disks, polymers, rubber moldings, castings, and metal fabrications. The position emphasizes mechanical product design, testing, validation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, reliable, and manufacturable solutions. What you'll do: Lead the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of the M-Force medium-voltage distribution switch product line.

Lead small projects and coordinate the project management competencies for the plant. Develop Engineering-to-Order (ETO) solutions that address unique customer requirements while maintaining quality, performance, and cost objectives. Serve as a key technical resource for new product development, ProLaunch, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, ensuring project milestones and program objectives are achieved.

Develop expertise in new engineering tools, technologies, and processes to drive innovation and efficiency. Provide timely technical reports, project updates, and recommendations to management and key stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities to enhance products, services, and operational performance.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, customers, and testing laboratories to achieve business and engineering objectives. Travel up to 10% for customer visits, supplier engagements, and testing activities. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience. Eaton will not consider applicants for employment, immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience. Experience in new product design of medium or high voltage electrical products Experience working with load break switches and/or arresters. Six-sigma trained to support design for manufacturing.

Microsoft Word, Excel, Share Point, One Note Experience with electrical field modeling is desired Extensive experience in EC/ECR/ECN processes. PMP Certification or experience leading engineering and/or manufacturing projects. Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
