Problem-solver. Facilitator. Negotiator. Leader. Sound like you? As a Program Manager in Antenna Systems at Viasat, you will play all these roles and more! Your experience leading talented professionals across engineering, operations, supply chain, and contracts groups will enable your program team to meet its key commitments during development of ground-based satellite communication systems. This role requires expertise in leading complex programs, coordinating teams, mitigating risks, and fostering strong customer relationships while ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion.
The day-to-day
In this role, you will form and sustain effective cross-functional teams across geographically dispersed locations throughout the program life cycle. You and your program leadership team will solve complex programs and program execution through leadership, planning, scheduling, financial reporting, budgeting, and deliverables management. You will use your skilled leadership and problem-solving skills to apply formal program management techniques (i.e., EVMS) and achieve the goals of the program and business area which are key to your success. Outstanding communication, decision-making, negotiation, and the ability to resolve challenges are key enablers for success in the role!
What you'll need
  • 10+ years of Program Management experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • Demonstrated strong financial experience in EVMS or similar cost and schedule management systems (i.e. MS Project)
  • Skilled in structured risk management processes
  • Extensive problem-solving skills, demonstrated leadership in the face of sudden setbacks
  • Experience handling project requirements for DoD end users
  • Experience effectively managing subcontractors delivering key system elements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring efficient and effective program messaging across internal teams and external customers
  • Must be able to work onsite in our Duluth, GA office
  • Travel up to 25%
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Top Secret Clearance

What will help you on the job
  • Knowledge Of U.S. Government SATCOM and space-based intelligence mission requirements
  • Experience in engineering and installation to support development of satellite earth stations/antenna or cellular/wireless facilities
  • Government or Military installation design or construction experience, including knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified Guide Specifications (UFGS)
  • Experience managing design and construction projects internationally
  • Dedicated customer focus, a passion for excellence, and a one-team mindset describe the successful candidate.

Salary range
$141,500.00 - $224,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $176,000.00- $264,000.00/ annually
