Job description

Program Manager โ€“ Olsen House (Womenโ€™s Residential SUD Program)

BHcare is developing a new Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Substance Use Disorder treatment program (ASAM 3.5) in the Greater New Haven area. This program will provide a highly structured, trauma-informed, and person-centered setting for female-identifying adults with moderate to severe substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions. The program is designed to support individuals in reducing substance use, building sustainable recovery skills, and enhancing overall health and functioning.

This position is 40 hours per week and the schedule is Tuesday 12pm-8pm and Wednesday-Saturday 8am-4pmย 

ย What Youโ€™ll Do:

Program Leadership & Operations

  • Lead daily operations of a womenโ€™s residential SUD treatment program
  • Ensure delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based care
  • Oversee programming, engagement, and compliance with ASAM standards

Clinical Leadership & Staff Development

  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, peer specialists, and residential team members
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development
  • Facilitate team meetings and provide individual and group supervision

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to ASAM criteria, regulatory standards, and payer requirements
  • Monitor documentation quality and program performance
  • Prepare for and participate in audits and accreditation reviews

Collaboration & Direct Support

  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
  • Provide clinical support and coverage when needed (assessments, groups, crisis intervention)
  • Build relationships with families, community partners, and referral sources

What You Bring

  • Masterโ€™s degree in a behavioral health field (MSW preferred)
  • Active, independent clinical license in Connecticut
  • 5+ years in substance use treatment, including residential experience
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of ASAM 3.5 level of care (preferred)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to transport clients as needed
