Description
The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is recruiting an entry-level Postdoctoral Scholar to join a collaborative research team led by Dr. Dana Crawford studying late-onset Alzheimer's disease and chronic kidney disease. The scholar will work on NIH- and non-NIH-funded projects that integrate multiple data types, including electronic health record (EHR) clinical data and genetic data, accessed through secure data enclaves such as the NIH All of Us Research Program.
Case Western Reserve University, Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an entry-level postdoctoral scholar position. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewing for an additional year.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Access and analyze clinical (EHR), genetic, and other multi-modal data on late-onset Alzheimer's disease and chronic kidney disease through secure data enclaves, including the NIH All of Us Research Program.
2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team on study design, data management, and statistical/bioinformatic analysis for NIH- and non-NIH-funded projects related to late-onset Alzheimer's disease and chronic kidney disease.
3. Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant applications, and presentation of findings at scientific conferences.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Biomedical & Health Informatics or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience (e.g., gained through doctoral training, research assistantships, or prior employment) working with data enclaves, such as the NIH All of Us Research Program, and analyzing multiple data types, including electronic health record (EHR) clinical data and genetic/genomic data.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary.
• Proficiency in a statistical or data programming language (e.g., R, Python, or SAS) preferred; experience designing or managing relational databases is a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

In compliance with the City of Cleveland's Pay Transparency Ordinance (effective October 27, 2025), the annual starting base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $63,480. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. Postdocs receive individual and family healthcare benefits, life insurance, and employee assistance.
