Job description

The Pipeline Engineer provides technical management assistance on projects within HGA's Integrated Services division. Serves as the technical lead on pipeline projects. Also, assists in budgeting, man powering, scheduling, and forecasting projects as directed by the Engineering Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Mentor and guide team of less experienced engineers
• Serve as lead engineer on pipeline projects ranging from integrity replacement, shorter midstream laterals to major transmission projects
• Assist in defining project scopes, goals and deliverables.
• Assist in pipeline design, routing and workspace layout
• Perform calculations relating to pipeline design
• Ensure project designs comply with appropriate regulatory requirements of DOT 192 or 195
• Manage project resource allocation for assigned tasks.
• Monitor and report on progress of assigned projects and tasks.
• Ensure project is operating within quality assurance guidelines.
• Coordinate with drafting resources for development of project deliverables
• Assist in tracking and reporting project changes to Project Manager
• Assist in the development of proposals
Requirements:
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• 7+ years of related experience in a consulting engineering firm or operating company.
• Experience as project engineer for intrastate and interstate pipeline projects.
• Experience supporting pipeline projects through permitting processes - FERC 7c, Corp of Engineers 404.
• Must be located within daily commuting distance of the HGA office in Birmingham, AL; Ruston, LA, Hattiesburg, MS; or Lexington, KY.
