HBK Engineering, LLC is a fully licensed, professional engineering design firm headquartered in Chicago, IL with a staff approaching 700 individuals. HBK provides civil, environmental, structural, electrical, subsurface utility, construction support services and permitting facilitation. About this Role

HBK Engineering is seeking a Senior Licensed Professional Engineer to join our team. This role requires a valid PE license, though 10+ years of significant engineering experience may be considered in lieu of licensure. This position leads, supports, and directs teams consisting of engineers, designers, and staff involved in the delivery and execution of project work, from design and analysis to the day-to-day management of direct report team members.

  • Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of
  • assignments and related fields.
  • Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and
  • disciplines to complete assignments.
  • Works on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
  • Assists in the training and mentoring of team members within their teams.
  • Completion of Timesheets in a timely (daily) and accurate manner.
  • Obtain an in-depth understanding of their reporting manager's expectations and project team structure.
  • Measures personal performance.
  • Provides feedback and performance indicators to their reporting manager.
  • Sets goals with their reporting manager for professional development and monitoring progress towards

  • Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments.
  • Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Facilitate the formation of project teams and mediate conflict between team members.
  • Oversees, evaluates, and mentors direct reports in the day-to-day execution of their assigned projects and
  • organizational responsibilities.
  • Maintains regular one-on-one meetings with all direct reports on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to provide
  • ongoing mentorship, guidance, and support.
  • May advise in the development of Project Proposals / RFP responses.
  • Anticipates technical and constructability project challenges and works to minimize downstream project risk.
  • Monitors that all work is performed under contract, or gain approval from their reporting Manager for work
  • performed out of standard contract sequence
