Job Summary:
Great Hill Solutions, LLC, part of the Seneca Nation Group, is seeking an Engineering Manager. This role serves as the primary interface between contractor engineering teams and federal technical leads, ensuring operational excellence and mission-focused service delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as primary engagement authority for federal technical leads across engineering teams and provide executive-level reporting to federal leadership
• Review and validate new project requests for scope, architectural alignment, resource allocation, and risk posture
• Oversee successful project lifecycle execution, including documentation, ATO considerations, and formal closeout approvals
• Ensure weekly and monthly performance reporting reflects accurate labor utilization, SLA adherence, and modernization progress
• Drive alignment with Functional Bureau Strategy (FBS), hybrid hosting roadmap, and Department modernization initiatives
• Lead enterprise transition toward hybrid cloud posture integrating on-premises and Azure cloud capabilities
• Oversee VMware modernization efforts, including transition to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and evaluation of hypervisor-neutral hardware platforms
• Promote infrastructure automation, self-healing orchestration, and policy-driven management across environments
• Ensure observability tools transition from passive monitoring to automated remediation capabilities
• Support integration of cloud-native storage, backup, and compliance capabilities aligned with federal retention requirements
• Direct oversight of multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting: Microsoft Azure enterprise cloud services, hybrid integration, and Azure Arc-enabled orchestration
• Global enterprise backup, restore, disaster recovery, and Azure-based cold storage integration
• Enterprise on-premises hosting infrastructure across multiple data centers
• VMware modernization and transition to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Observability and automation platforms (Zabbix, Dynatrace, Aria / vROps, PowerShell, Ansible)
• Global Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (Omnissa Horizon)
• Executive oversight of ATO documentation and validation, systems control, and audit readiness, vulnerability analytics, and modernization initiatives
• Oversee vulnerability identification and remediation lifecycle management
• Evaluation and modernization of security operations and policy
• Security posture reporting and alignment with federal cybersecurity mandates and Department policy
• Provide direct supervision and performance management for engineering
• Mentor technical leads and architects across cloud, infrastructure, automation, and security disciplines
• Balance resource allocation across competing priorities while maintaining SLA
• Foster culture of accountability, innovation, and operational discipline
• Enable communication across engineering teams to ensure data driven decisions
• Resolve or escalate risks and issues raised by engineering team leads
• Serve as an escalation point for outages and after-hours incident response
• Analyze performance metrics with federal technical leads and engineering leads to identify trends and corrective actions
• Identify gaps in client needs and implement service improvements
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top-Secret clearance required
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, or hybrid hosting environments
• Demonstrated leadership managing multidisciplinary engineering teams in federal environments
• Experience supporting Azure, VMware, and enterprise data center platforms
• Experience working within a federal contracting environment and engaging with leadership at various levels of technical responsibility
• Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP)
