Project Manager - Pulp and Paper
WHO WE ARE:
Jedson Engineering is an Engineering Consultancy headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. We provide full-service engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services to industrial process manufacturers that operate in pulp & paper, chemical, CPG, F&B, power and heavy industrial market markets across the nation. We are in a significant growth mode and itโ€™s an exciting time to be joining our business!
WHAT YOUโ€™LL BE DOING:
This position requires someone with significant project management experience who possesses the knowledge and skills to develop project plans, scope of services, schedules, budgets and execution plans. This role will initially be full-time on-site at a pulp mill located in Oregon for a six-to-twelve-month duration, with the possibility of extensions, and will evolve into other project management work after this initial assignment. Reporting to the locationโ€™s Operations Leader, the successful candidate will build strong collaborative relationships internally and externally, have strong project and business skills, be well spoken and personable, and be a strong advocate for and leader of the Jedson engineering team. Previous project work at pulp mills is required.
  • Manage all aspects of business projects from inception through execution
  • Develop and document the scope of work
  • Understand project success criteria and ensure client expectations are met
  • Develop and track project costs
  • Identify and communicate changes to SOW
  • Identify and effectively respond to client's issues and needs
  • Ensure value is provided to the client and develop & earn their trust
  • Ensure the clients policies and procedures are communicated and followed by the Jedson and project team
  • Review and manage all project deliverables
  • Secure resources needed for team to execute work effectively (i.e. drawings, reports, site visits, etc.)
  • Ensure POs are received from the client before work begins and ensure services are rendered within the approved budget; also ensure invoices are paid timely
  • Anticipate future work associated or derived from ongoing projects
WHO YOU ARE:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering
  • Project Management experience on Engineering Projects through installation and start-up/commissioning
  • Knowledge of front-end engineering and detailed engineering process
  • Proven Customer Account Manager with experience in developing opportunities within existing clients
  • Experience in managing contractors, sequencing workflow, developing an integrated schedule, managing critical path, and change management.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving projects within budget from initiation through a successful and timely conclusion
  • Coordinate and supervise project implementation, control project costs, monitor progress and quality of the projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and foster positive client relationships
  • Perform activities to improve the reliability and efficiency of operations
  • Experience in consulting engineering, power, and/or heavy industrial industry
