This is a full-time Intern position located in Bend, OR. The position will be temporary in nature and last approximately 9 months.

Job Summary:

Qorvo Bend is recruiting for a Process Development Engineering Intern. The student in this position will be exposed to an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified manufacturing facility focused on the manufacturing of BAW (Bulk Acoustic Wave) filter devices, technology development, and advanced research.

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Data Analysis: Extract and analyze data using tools like Databricks, Spotfire, or Excel.
  • Experimentation (DOEs): Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to evaluate and improve process capabilities.
  • Recipe Optimization: Troubleshoot fabrication processes and optimize equipment recipes for physical vapor deposition (PVD).
  • Statistical Process Control: Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to track manufacturing limits and reduce variations.
  • Metrology Tools: Collect and log process data utilizing various metrology tools.
  • Documentation: Create and update manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner directly with technicians, operators, and senior engineers to carry out experiments and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Technical Presentation: Compile project results and present to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Chemistry.
  • Basic understanding of any common semiconductor processing technologies (such as Thin Film Deposition, Product Metrology, Photolithography, Dry/Wet Etch, Electroplating, RF Electrical Test, or Semiconductor Packaging).
  • Self-starter with good communication skills.
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • 9 months availability to work onsite.

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)
