Job description

Consor Engineers is seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineering Intern to join our Phoenix, AZ office. This opportunity is ideal for graduate students pursuing a Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering disciplines who are interested in gaining handson experience with municipal water and wastewater treatment projects. About the Role

As a Water/Wastewater Treatment Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers to support the planning, design, and evaluation of water and wastewater treatment facilities. You will contribute to technical analyses, reports, and design efforts while gaining exposure to treatment processes, facility operations, and multidisciplinary project delivery.


  • Supporting the planning and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including new facilities, expansions, and rehabilitation projects
  • Assisting with treatment process evaluations, calculations, and system sizing
  • Preparing technical memoranda, engineering reports, feasibility studies, and planning documents
  • Assisting with development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Collaborating with civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical team members
  • Supporting highquality, clientfocused project delivery

This internship offers valuable exposure to municipal treatment projects and provides an excellent foundation for a longterm career in water and wastewater engineering.


  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Completion of an undergraduate engineering degree
  • Strong interest in water and/or wastewater treatment engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

  • Coursework or research experience related to water or wastewater treatment processes
  • Familiarity with engineering calculations, technical writing, or data analysis
  • Familiarity with treatment process modeling or design software.
  • Selfmotivated with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a teamoriented environment

This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
