Job description

Aircraft Technology, Inc., (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.

ROLE: The Dimensional Inspector will inspect aerospace and gas turbine engine components for airworthiness and conformance to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards during receiving, in-process, and final inspections. This position will verify and validate work performed by ATI and subcontractors to meet specifications in accordance with FAA and other world regulatory bodies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Visually inspect components for wear, corrosion, fretting, gouges, bent or worn features, elongated holes, and any other damage of the turbine engine.
  • Measure parts using various measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, surface gages, dial-indicator gages, and other inspection tools to measure sizes.
  • Determine whether part features meet standards for serviceability, reparability, and overhauled condition.
  • Interpret standards provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals and instructions for continued airworthiness and industry standards. Thoroughly document visual and dimensional inspection findings in reporting forms.
  • Documentation Inspection - Check customer purchase orders and other customer documentation, check vendor documentation, and ATI documentation.
  • Reporting - Clearly report all findings. Record location, size, acceptability parameters, and other information relevant to the evaluation, acceptance, and corrections.
  • Work closely with the engineering team on new component procedures and repairs to ensure continuous improvement in the department.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
