We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Engineer to join our growing Reston, VA Team.

We are currently expanding our design services to support client and project needs in the Structural/Transportation focus areas. The successful candidate will assist in the design of simple and complex fixed bridges, movable bridges, and perform bridge inspections as part of a highly technical group. Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design and analysis tasks for projects including bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects under the oversight of a Senior Engineer
  • Prepare detailed plans and construction documents for the assigned tasks
  • Perform engineering calculations pertaining to, and in support of, the detailed plans and construction documents developed
  • Develop contract specifications, contract bid documents, and technical report writing
  • Occasionally perform bridge inspections and load ratings on local agency structures

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-EAC Accredited Degree); Specialization in Structural Engineering (preferred)
  • Virginia PE License preferred, or ability to obtain within two years
  • A minimum of five years of Structural Engineering experience with a focus on bridge design (preferred)
  • Experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design and plan production of bridge projects following Federal, State, and Local Municipality codes
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD required, Microstation preferred)
  • Experience with current FEM modeling software (preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a design team
  • Must be a highly motivated individual who is detail and goal-oriented, a self-starter, and proficient in both verbal and written communications
