Position Summary:

We have an opening for a full-time, Building Automation Controls Engineering Draftsman at our NY/NJ branch office. The Engineering Draftsman is responsible for the creation, organization, and tracking of construction project design documents and as-builts. The Engineering Draftsman will report directly to the engineering manager and work closely with the design engineers to ensure they have timely support on each project. The Engineering Draftsman will work professionally with both internal and external clients and will primarily as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive submittal packages in collaboration with design engineers.
  • Foster direct collaboration with engineers to expedite the timely completion of designed submittals.
  • Coordinate design turnover meetings involving engineers, project managers, and sales personnel.
  • Ensure seamless digital delivery of design documents to clients.
  • Assume responsibility for effective communication with engineers, project managers, and clients, contributing to efficient project submittal tracking.
  • Proactively seek and implement problem-solving solutions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance drafting tools.
  • Liaise with field technicians to ensure the accuracy of as-built documents.
  • Create control system submittal drawings with precision.
  • Manage the acquisition and annotation of submittal cut sheets.
  • Develop startup forms and complete valve schedules.
  • Generate export files of bills of materials for project managers.
  • Design and create drafting symbols and objects in Visio.
  • Create software points within the controllers.
  • Maintain and update Click Up for project tracking.
  • Monitor and track submittal approvals throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2+ Years of experience as a draftsman/engineer
  • High School or GED required.
  • Working knowledge of Visio, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite, Proficient with computers, Adaptable to new software
  • Experience working in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
