If you are a team player with a passion to drive your career in Bridge Design, Popli Design Group (PDG) is the place for you! PDG is seeking a Manager, Bridge Design to add to our growing and talented Transportation team in our New York City office.
As a Manager specializing in Bridge design, your role will supervise our Team Leads, assist with managing larger projects, including preparing proposals for transportation projects pertaining to bridges or other transportation related structural components. This Manager will also assist in hiring and mentoring lower-level staff.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages the work flow of several design teams
  • Establishes goals and performance standards for staff
  • QCs the preparation of contract plans and specifications
  • QCs the preparation of construction cost estimates
  • QCs the review of construction submittals
  • Directly interacts with clients with regards to project deliverables, budgets and schedules
  • Participates in business development activities
  • Performs oral presentations on technical topics to clients, the public and other professionals
  • Member of professional practice organizations, local board member, or officer, regional/state or policy committee member
  • Mentors lower-level staff

Required Skills:
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of applicable engineering principals and techniques
  • Effectively expresses thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing in the English language
  • Proficient in the use of applicable computer software
  • Is an active and supportive leader
  • Understands basic safety requirements
  • Able to lead complete projects

Experience, Education and Certification:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in the field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

Work Environment:
  • Professional office environment
  • Occasional work outside of the office at project sites
  • Travels often within NY State and surrounding areas
  • Interacts with other PDG personnel and directly with clients
  • Provides supervision, training and mentoring on all tasks

Physical Demands:
  • This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer
  • This job requires the ability to occasionally work on ladders and in aerial lifts
  • This job requires the ability to lift up to 25lbs
