Engineering Assistant - Document Control & Project Delivery

2 openings - one supporting a Pittsburgh, PA-based team and one supporting a Portland, OR-based team. Hybrid candidates in either location sought.
Pay: $34.00- $40.00 per hour DOE
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Assistant to support engineering leads with administrative and document control tasks across complex A/E design projects. You'll maintain discipline design package schedules, track design reviews and sign-offs, coordinate onboarding and offboarding of staff, interface with project-level document control, and help keep the design team organized and on track.
What you'll do
  • Maintain discipline design package schedules and track design review sign-offs
  • Review design package checklists for completion and coordinate submissions with project document control
  • Maintain revision control of discipline tools - equipment lists, calculations, and schedules
  • Coordinate with Department Managers to plan onboarding and offboarding of project staff
  • Track design changes and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to share data
  • Take meeting notes at discipline organizational meetings
  • Interface with engineering discipline leads, sub-leads, design automation group, and department managers
  • Organize administrative and engineering data; maintain accurate records
  • Look for ways to reduce project cost and schedule and improve work processes

What you need
  • 2-year technical degree or 4-year non-technical degree
  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience in project delivery design
  • Knowledge of document control processes and company engineering design standards
  • Familiarity with project delivery methods typical for A/E-led designs
  • Knowledge of work/information flow between disciplines and schedule constraints for deliverable production
  • Project management or engineering background
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills
  • Must be located near Pittsburgh, PA or Portland, OR for a hybrid schedule
