Summary
Centrus is expanding-and we're looking for an Assistant Engineering Manager who's ready to help shape the future of our centrifuge fabrication capabilities. In this role, you'll support major facility growth efforts, guide technical decision-making, and help lead a team responsible for the safe, efficient development and modernization of critical fabrication systems.
You'll partner across engineering, construction, operations, safety, and project management to ensure our expansion projects move forward with precision and compliance. If you thrive in fast-moving, highly technical environments and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges with a cross-functional team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What You'll Be Doing

You help oversee the development, installation, modification, and optimization of specialized fabrication tools and supporting infrastructure-always ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, nuclear handling, and security requirements.
Your work includes supporting troubleshooting and system reliability improvements, contributing to project schedules, cost estimates, technical specifications, and procurement packages, and engaging in reviews, hazard analyses, and readiness evaluations. You help validate engineering documentation, monitor contractor and vendor performance, and keep senior leadership informed on system performance, project progress, and engineering risks.
We'd Love to Hear from Candidates with

  • Experience leading engineering projects or small technical teams
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, rotating machinery, tooling systems, or production equipment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills

A Successful Candidate Brings
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with centrifuge fabrication equipment, custom process systems, or facility expansion projects
  • Background in DOE, NNSA, aerospace, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with standards such as ASME, ANSI, or NQA-1

Pay
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $94,223- $157,038. This position is Bonus eligible.
