About the Company

Nanochem Technologies is actively seeking a senior coatings chemist and custom formulator for industrial wood and industrial metal coatings. This is an ideal position for an experienced and creative chemist who has experience with a broad range of coatings chemistries, proven formulation skills, enjoys custom formulating per customer specs, and excels in a dynamic environment where they will continue to develop technical and leadership skills.


About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Custom design/formulate coatings per customer specifications.
  • Lead product development for end-use requirements.
  • Lead activities focused on problem-solving, product improvement, performance testing, and verification/improvement of application robustness.
  • Support custom development initiatives to solve customer problems.
  • Support sales/marketing with technical guidance and attendance at customer meetings.
  • Mentor/develop junior chemists.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in organic chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, or coatings chemistry.


Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a coatings manufacturer.
  • Strong computer and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong technical writing/report writing skills.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to relocate to Elkhart, Indiana.
