Overview:

Pape-Dawson is seeking a full-time Transportation Project Engineer based in our Nashville office. This position is responsible for project design and task management within roadway design. The Transportation Project Engineer will collaborate with other transportation team members within the roadway and traffic groups, land surveyors, environmental engineers, construction engineer inspectors, and landscape architects to assist our clients in developing transportation related projects. This role will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients throughout the state and southeast.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute transportation design plans, studies, and analyses through project software

  • Horizontal and vertical geometric design

  • Stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control design

  • Directing and training junior staff

  • Support project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverables

  • Additional related duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

  • 4+ years of engineering experience with recent experience in transportation design preferred

  • Tennessee PE license

  • Understanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTO

  • Knowledge of TDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation

  • Experience in development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agencies

  • Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
