The Town of Prescott Valley invites you to apply for the position of Engineer
We are looking for qualified Engineers to fill vacant positions in both Development Services and Utilities. We are seeking qualified Engineers to fill current and future vacancies within both Development Services and Utilities. Positions may include roles that support both departments by reviewing development plans and reports (including water and sewer) and coordinating with developers and development engineers, as well as roles focused on managing Capital Improvement Projects within the Utilities Department.
The list of Capital Projects includes, but is not limited to:

Fire Hydrant Installation program Reata Drive Sewer Re-alignment
Viewpoint Storage Tank WWTP Expansion Project
Electrical and Controls Programs Electrical and Control System Programs
Applicants who are actively working towards obtaining their State of Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license may be considered for this position as an underfill. Compensation and position progression will be commensurate with qualifications and aligned to the appropriate classification level (EIT or PE).
Examples of Duties
FOR THESE POSITIONS, YOU MAY:
  • Review plans, specifications and engineering reports. Ensure the documents meet Town Standards, comply with standard details and specifications, and meet applicable code requirements.
  • Prepares reports and comment letters and works with developers and engineers responding to questions and coordinating with other Town departments.
  • Provide engineering support to field inspectors, track construction progress and process pay requests.
  • Manage and assist consultants performing work for the town; may prepare RFQs and bid documents.
  • Use GIS, models, and other tools to assist in performing evaluations of master planning documents.

Typical Qualification
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field with four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (or in progress) in the State of Arizona.
  • The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background screening.

Desirable Skills:
  • Plan review experience

  • Construction management and administration

COMPENSATION:
The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental, and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with a town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.
  • The expected hiring range is $104,594-$115,000
  • The full salary range is: $104,594 - $146,432
