Job description

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive input on prototype axle and driveshaft assemblies or components requirements and manage the procurement and assembly processes to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Procure and process prototype and production parts with suppliers across various commodities and process capabilities.
  • Communicate quality expectations and data requirements to suppliers for purchased materials and supplier processes, coordinating with Dana Quality Engineers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Samples Department and other Dana Departments.
  • Identify and procure assembly tooling required for the Samples Department’s axle and driveshaft builds.
  • Utilize Dana MRP System in support of Purchase Requirements (Purchase Requisitions) and Build Requirements including Bill of Material creation, Work Order creation, and others.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications for components, assemblies and tooling.
  • Perform other assigned duties incidental to the occupation.
  • Support and execution of 5S Objectives.
  • Execution of Dana Operating System (DOS) Objectives
  • Support and active involvement in department improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by Management
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or may consider equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with interpretation of component and assembly drawings and Engineering Specifications.
  • Must understand GD&T.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Basic working knowledge of drivelines is preferred.
  • Experience with basic MRP system functions is beneficial.
  • Willing and able to work extra time when necessary.
  • Must meet the physical requirements for this position.
