QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalency preferred

EXPERIENCE: On the job training provided, Previous manufacturing or foundry experience preferred

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Must have good vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination. Must be able to follow written work instructions. Must be able to multitask and meet production goals and deadlines. Must be team-oriented and have good communication skills. Must have great attention to detail. Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to grip, push, and pull with 80lb strength on a regular basis. Must be able to generate 15lbs of pinch strength on occasion. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical. Must be able to perform elevated work on an occasional basis. Some tasks require repetitive activities. Must be able to stand on concrete up to 8 hours. Must be willing to cross-train within the classification. Must be able to follow all safety rules and wear all required personal protective equipment. Must be willing to work any shift. Must be able to maintain a clean workstation and clean equipment. Cleaning Room Specialist includes Weld Clean, and X Ray Dig.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Weld Clean

  • Must be able to identify the welds on the casting and blend the weld to the correct the defect in the casting.
  • Must be able to check weld with penetrant and blacklight to identify areas that need corrected to conform to the standard of the casting.
  • Must be able to use Acetone and developer to recheck the defect with a blacklight to ensure the defect has been corrected.
  • Must be able to identify the correct tools for each weld specific to the casting.
  • Must be able to work independently but able to communicate between departments.

X Ray Dig

  • Must be able to identify the defects in the casting and compare it to the Xray.
  • Must be able to work independently but be able to communicate with multiple departments when necessary.
  • Must be able to blend or dig out the defects from the casting per the Xray Reader’s instruction.
