Job description

Description

SAIC is looking for a Radio Frequency (RF) Systems Engineer to provide management and outreach support to the government customer RF Program Manager. This includes utilizing knowledge and background in RF technology and development to support a government program manager in technical evaluation, project management, and execution of RF technology research and development (R&D). This position is in Chantilly, VA.

 Job Description:

  • Advise RF PM on technical aspects of the RF portfolio
  • Plan and support technology maturation throughout the R&D lifecycle
  • Plan and execute all budgetary aspects of the R&D Program
  • Guide future RF technology development strategy and roadmaps
  • Support transition of mature RF hardware to system program offices for flight development
  • Survey state-of-the-art RF technologies and provide technical recommendations
  • Drive advancement of resiliency activities/initiatives in RF technology
  • Support all phases of the acquisition strategy and process
  • Develop requests for proposals, statements of work, requirements, contract data requirements list (CDRL) and other required solicitation/contract documents
  • Support acquisition source selection activities as a technical advisor on RF-related technologies and components
  • Interact with outside agencies to include DoD, NASA, National Labs and Universities
  • Identify and advise customers on relevant current and emerging technologies, as well as tasks affecting the management of the R&D portfolio
  • Assist with the oversight of technology development contracts and build status briefings for government customers and industry partners

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD and four (4) years or more experience
  • Understanding of RF fundamentals, their impact on system performance, and design trades
  • Ability to work on-site in US Government facilities
  • Effective critical thinking and interpersonal skills, strong briefing and written communications skills

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • STEM degree; preferably in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Math
  • Experience developing and coordinating technology roadmaps with multiple agencies
  • Bias for action; taking the lead on critical tasks as they come up
  • Strong professional network in RF-related fields (government, academia, and industry)
  • Strong technical acquisitions background (Prior government agency acquisitions/contracts management experience a plus)

 

Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with polygraph
